Grayback works on public and private projects that are subject to differing state and federal wage and hour laws. Often, Grayback’s work on public projects may be subject to wage and hour requirements, including adhering to pay determinations that are published by the government. Accordingly, an employee’s pay may vary from project to project and depending on the nature of the work that an employee performs.

Grayback Forestry is recruiting top candidates for its current season fire crews. All candidates must be 18-years-old, demonstrate fitness capacity and attend a five-day training course.

We keep our crews available year-round. Additionally, we facilitate national crews so you can travel anywhere in the United States.
We have multiple wildland fire positions available at all our locations. Positions are available for Engine Bosses, FF-1s, and FF-2s.
Pay Range: Hourly rate of $17.75 up to $28.73 plus fringe benefits, as applicable, depending on the project and nature of the work and depending on experience.
Pay for FF-1/ICT5s, Crew Bosses, Engine Bosses, and other fire positions depends on Qualifications and experience.
The above pay rates apply to work in wildfire suppression and do not include pay when engaged in fuel restoration work.
